please help!

Hello all
I need some help with a small issue I have...

My mother has lost the keys to her garage door.luckily it isn't locked.what I need to know is can I remove the whole lock and take it to a locksmith to get a new key? How do I remove the lock?

That type of lock is just a rotating cam which takes a universal key. The outside will be different, but if you only need a key for the inside, there's no need to take the whole assembly apart. If you go to a locksmith and tell them you need a triangular key for the inside of a garage door lock, they should have what you're looking for. :)

If she's lost the key for the outside aswell you'll need someone to come out and make a key for it, or install a new one.

I guess you already considered removing some of the screws/nuts?
