I agree with you that some members can overreact to some types of questions on here... This is why threads get locked by moderators...
However, when someone with (1) single post asks a very specific detailed question about a very specific type of lock, then that can raise some questions and trigger some "alarm bells" or "spidey senses" as to why that person who has never posted before has come out of the woodwork to ask about that specific type of lock...
Here are some very common examples:
Q.) Someone who seems really interested in Best SFIC locks who happens to be posting from a college...
A.) There is no way that student could be asking how to tamper with locks that don't belong to them is there ?
Q.) Someone who asks a question about how to pick the locks on a Greenwald type Ace-II lock...
A.) That poster couldn't possibly want to be asking how to break into laundry machines to steal quarters could they ?
Q.) Someone who asks a question about an automotive lock in their very first post...
A.) Couldn't have anything to do with wanting to steal a car ?
The people here on this site are very interested in helping others learn about the hobby of lockpicking, they are not interested nor will be giving instructions in Burglary 101... This is why certain topics are not discussed in the open forums and are considered advanced...
