This lock will probably stay in my collection, a lot of locks come and go in trades but I think this one will stay. I see a few Francis Keil and Son's Lock Co. Locks on ebay, but I have yet to see another one of these. For how old it is and the security measures it has in the lock, its very cool.

Definitely keep it in your collection - but if you ever do want rid of it, give me...sorry, I mean all the guys on LP101...first refusal as you'll definitely get good bids.

Meanwhile, I imagine that combination would be difficult to pick. You'd need a deep hook...or I wonder whether a Falle type might be effective. Without an opportunity to try it myself, I suspect that the first stack with the slider/blocking disk would be even more difficult to deal with than a 'normal' zero-lift pin

Cheers...

Thanks, I'll most definitely be keeping it for a while, but we shall see.
As far as picking, like you said getting past that first pin is a pain, the warding doesn't help either. I have falle picks and they do work better than anything else I've tried so far.

the warding on the key way scares me almost more than the security pins

"max depth first cut"
Does that mean you shouldn't touch the first pin at all?
When you pick it (or more accurately: when you are in the process of failing) it FEELS like the disk should get out of the way.

Will try to alter my technique.
Would REALLY like to see some documentation on how it was proven this COULD be picked (and the (no doubt obsessive) person who pulled it of)
