Can the easy pickings PXS 14 piece lock pick set pick this lock?

Sorry if I did not post this in the right area; I am new to this forum and wanted to know if I could pick this lock with this set as i have lost my key. Thank you

Welcome to the site... Looks like you have a standard shrouded coin box lock on a washing machine there...

Unfortunately, no one here will be able to help you beyond recommending you call a locksmith or contact the distributor who sold you the coin box to see if they can assist you with obtaining replacement keys...

The rationale:

1. The lock is clearly "in use"...
2. You can not prove to anyone's satisfaction here that you do in fact OWN the lock you are asking about...
3. This is your FIRST post and the membership here don't know you yet...

I'd like to make a coffee table book of these kinds of [new user, 1st post, just joined today, close up cell phone pic, lock obviously in use, claiming ownership, asking how to pick using common tools or totally wrong pickset for the high security lock in question, lock protecting money or services]

Ya sorry if it offended anyone or violated the rules. I understand this is more hobby oriented and I respect all of the responses. I buy and sell washing machines on craigslist in college towns since so many students are always looking for them and you can pick them very inexpensive prices, as students are constantly moving. I found this machine for 75 dollars but they guy no longer had the key. So i figured I might as well buy it and either learn to pick it or higher a locksmith. What type of lock is this, how many pins? Thanks for the help guys.

Interesting story about the washing machine's provenance aside, it still doesn't quite add up to legitimacy...

OP: call a locksmith, even just to have the coin box opened and order a replacement which you would then be provided with keys for would still be less than the cost of even a "used" commercial washing machine...

Cool thanks for all the help, I will call one tomorrow somewhere near me in Tallahassee. Really need a key to be able to sell this machine to a small housing complex so I can collect returns on the investment. Thanks again.

Out of interest, are things so different in the US? Do students buy and sell washing machines at all, let alone coin-operated washing machines?

In the UK, most university students will rent a room on campus (slight misnomer as the block/complex might not actually be on the university site) for their first year. Since the number of rooms is limited, in most cases students cannot rent a room on campus for second/third years and instead get together with a small group of friends and rent a converted house. In the past (not so common since the buy-to-let market took hold), some second+ year students in some places actually bought a run-down house for a few grand (and sold it when they finished).

Only in the last of those three cases would students buy a washing machine. On campus there will be a laundromat with several machines, probably coin operated. In rented houses the landlord provides the machine but that isn't coin operated.

The only coin-operated machines would be in laundromats. In the States, do students buy and sell coin-operated machines?

I don't think the OP is a student who buys and sell them, just a guy who does so and sells to students. But honestly, I don't know any American college students who have money to buy a proper dinner, let alone a washing machine. Maybe if they're a grad student who is 25 and tired of going to the laundromat.

While we're on the subject, and I don't mean to hijack, but could someone inform me as to what I need to do to get this open?

I dropped a nickel and it rolled inside, I lost my keys, and don't want to bother the manager for a new set.

I also work the night shift so I won't be disturbing any of the patrons or employees!

Ive heard that you could bypass it with a paper clip and rubber band but I think that method belongs in the advanced forum.
