Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

...for 8077 or 8088. It can't be too hard to make something that will work, but jamming a hex wrench in there clearly doesn't do the trick. Thanks.

And if your nice, I may even use the imperial ruler instead of the more COMMON metric one :D

it's the square part that's really required (square, not hex), all the other tabs and so on are only for convenience.
Maybe also make the little round part at the tip, so it gets properly fixed in the resp. hole.

Ah, I thought I could just block the wheels but apparently I have to turn the key too. D'oh!

This hex wrench will work fine as soon as I grab a file. :)

PS: thanks, unlisted...but your photos all use some barbarian ruler with "CM" written on it or something. :P

If you want an 8077 change key, I think I have one around here... I don't need it since my 8077 is no longer with us.

Ah, so you all got lots of 8088s now...

Then let me recommend a tool like this :)

Don't worry about the cheap lock that's mounted in the picture, it also works on the 8088.

Cheers

many kinds of stuff... not sure if I get the meaning of your question right...

The tool in the link above is designed to measure the distance a padlock shackle can be pulled out of the lock, very precisely (1/100 mm), and that's what you need to interpret the feedback from combination padlocks like this.
I designed this tool and made a small run of 11 units on my lathe and mill.

Look back at a post on this date for a rough drawing of a change key I made. It may be more useful than a photo.
