When stripping down a best core with a grinder i thought of something.
If a standard plug had a sleeve wrapped around for say the last 3 pins and there was a small pin or disk the thickness of the sleeve between each top and bottom pin and the sleeve was spring loaded so a picking attempt caused it to slip through 90 degrees while trapping the plug with a side bar, a key could be supplied to reset this with the last 3 cuts at their deepest and cuts for the side bar. The normal key wouldnt have the side bar as its redundant in normal use and one of the last 3 pins would be responsible for retaining the outer in normal use allowing the others to function normally without any effects of the spring loaded sleeve.

not quite sure what you mean, but it sounds interesting. now apply the concept to your other high security design.

Sorry i should have been a little clearer on that one the side bar would be in the body of the lock and push into the sleeve through the three pin holes, another side bar in the plug would push this out with the control key.
