about 5 years ago you could get them new in box for $60 from Coleman's Surplus on ebay. Then locksport got huge and their prices got really high. I sold a new in box one for $299 last year. So yeah, if it isnt too banged up $100 for one with 3 keys is a fair price today, but I'll tell you, 2 to 5 years ago I would have not wanted to pay more than $25-$75 for a used one, and the new ones for $60 sold out pretty quickly

go for it! these things are only getting harder to find.

Squelchtone is right.

However, if I noticed anything recently, prices for the S&G padlocks have been more erratic as of late. I have seen some go for under $100 and others for much more. In good condition for $100 is good, but if you are into gambling, you might find one cheaper.

Good Luck,
Ed

no problem. i got mine for $70 + 5 for shipping. the lock itself was in good condition but it only came with the square control key and the shackle pin was missing, little things but for 75 bucks it was a great deal. One guy was gonna give me a deal on a new in box with everything for like $200, which is still a pretty decent deal.

I'm surprised how many S&G's have been online recently and how sporadic the prices have been.

I'm gonna make you squirm.. I got an 831B 1976, used, 1 key, would not turn, for $9.00 US.

I sprayed some lubricant into keyway, waited ten minutes, and got the key to turn and open the lock! Then I ground down the shoulders on the key and made it into a control key to take lock apart.

This was about 5 years ago.
