Medeco cam lock

I need some help with a medeco cam lock I just bought. I read most of the forums on here I could find about it, but still need some tips or advice. I can post pics when I get home so you know I actually own the lock and am not trying to break into somewhere like some of the posts I've read. I know it only has one set of pins that need to be rotated but I can't figure out how to do it. It seems to have more of the ARX style pins with the sidebar groove not going down the whole pin. I took it all apart and back together to get more of an idea about it and that's when I noticed the pins. I was just wondering how to get the pins to rotate while picking if the groove isn't accesible. Will just raking work? Any help would be much appreciated

the keyways are often too small for common picks, you may want to design and build your own with thin metal
there are some threads here where they are mentioned as having been picked. see if search works on them.

you can often push on the side of a pin with a hook to turn it...

The smaller Medeco cam lock cylinders do not use the same pins with sidebar grooves as the full size cylinders... The pins in the cam lock cylinders have a sidebar with rounded pins rather than flattened splines, so the pins have small round holes in the proper locations... Master pins have more than one hole...

There are other threads here which address your question as far as how to rotate the pins, just search for them...

These are hit and miss but you can just rake them open to be honest

I use a small HPC half diamond to both lift and rotate the pins.

Insert the half diamond at a 45 degree angle in order to either rake the left or the right side of the pin, never insert it down the middle, that will lift the pins, but not do any rotating. Also, look into an L-Rake, sometimes called a riffle rake, those are disturbingly effective against Medeco cam locks, and so are Raimundo Bogota rakes.
