Abus Combination Padlock 160/50

Postby Strongman » 19 Sep 2004 8:59

Hi!

I have in my posession a ABUS 160/50

Image

I have had this lock for at least 10 years, I used it on my locker at high school. -Sorry to say I forgot the combination over a christmas break (i changed the combo just before going on the holiday) And when i came back i had totally forgot the code!

Well, the whole lock in the locker did unscrew and i took it home and sawed the stuff holding my precious padlock prisoner. I then welded it and grinded it :) As good as new, and I got to keep my padlock. I'm now sitting here with a paper with 40 lines on it. A couple of examples: "4000-4099" and "9300-9399" -Im trying to find the right combination by exhausting the 10.000 combinations! :) -This is a project from circa 1994.

Now when i found this nice forum, i wonder if there are some technicue that can help me open this bastard? ;)

HAAAAPPPPYY!

-In answear to my own post i can now tell you all that i have opened my ABUS 160/50!

I have countless hours in trying to find the right code by trying, but thru some reading about Abus 165/30-locks and implementing "looking between digits" i found out that there are flat spots that i could line up and then roll all four digits to find the right combo! :)

Hope i make sense! -Anyhow with a good headlight and a needle to hold the "rollers" aside this lock is a peice of cake to open. Insane!
