Master Lock 1525

I thought it was cool,becuase it had a Dial, and a KEYHOLE.

I played with locks in past, Using bobby pins, and papper clips to open them, found tricks to open a few of em.

Should i try to kick the lock, should I try shimming it, or should I play that silly numbers game?

these sorts of locks arent discussed in the open forum, not because they are advanced but because these are most often used in school situations.

get some decent tools (you dont have to spend too much), get an assortment of locks (kwikset, schlage, master #3) and search through the forum and read a bunch. by then you will already know the answer to your questions.

Fun little locks to play with. As you said, there's a multitude of ways to open them (pick/shim/manipulate).
Check out youtube and you're sure to find some different methods to try.

Not just schools either, the company I work for has those (or something very close) on all the lockers for the production staff. It's one thing to worry someone's school book could get stolen, quite another to worry that something at a business could get stolen.

Ya second that. Its very suspect. . Its actualy amazing how many first time posters imediatly want to know how to open a specific lock. Not evan an introduction just strait to busness. . .

I uasully creep around on the forums, just made an acountant.

I go to high school, but I have the locks built in the locker at mine. So yea, I thought it was odd to find one on my desk at school just sitting there. My friend said he remembeed how I used to play with them, and said I could screw around with this. I'm can only pick, I shimmed one before, and I can't manipulate too well. It's like a puzzle. (I also like mechanical puzzles, Rubiks cubes, puzzle boxes, and the kind you have to seperate the peices.) Sorry if I give of a suspious vibe, just thought it was interesting.

I did not know, that we can't talk about em, I just thought it was a cool lock. -.-

If your intentions are truly honest then by all means, please stay and feel welcome at LP101. I'm sure that many members of the community will gladly encourage anyone with a genuine interest in the hobby of locksport, as we need more people off good repute to represent the community. That being said, due to the nature of our sport, that is to say we enjoy defeating devices that are intended to protect people, we must be suspicious of people's intentions. Certain things will raise bells and alarms with us.

If you like solving puzzles then I would like to invite you to stick around and start reading as much as you can about the nature of locksport, and the level integrity and responsibility that comes with developing the knowledge and skill for opening locks without the keys.
