Are you new to picking? If so then you must have plenty of money.
The Peterson Govt. Elite is a very expensive set. You might find in those large sets that there a lot of picks you probably won't use.
I'm guilty of buying one of those huge sets when I started out, found I rarely used many of them. The picks I use the most are hooks and variants of that, the occasional rake if I don't feel like single pin picking a lock. A ball for some wafer locks. That's about it. I'm a hobbyist so I mostly single pin pick locks for the fun and challenge. I don't have a use for the giant kits.
Peterson tools are very good quality picks though, strong, reliable. Not to say you should try putting a million pounds of pressure on them. I sand my Peterson picks a little bit to remove the rough edge and make them run smoother in the lock, but that is personal preference.
South Ord picks are great for people learning the skill set, I haven't used them in quite a while, but I know members that use them all the time and love how they feel.
