no pics handy... but maybe this will help. I am doing this from memory so give me a break if I recall incorrectly
There are four variations of the original ACE tubular lock:
1) seven pin standard
2) eight pin standard
3) seven pin offset left
4) seven pin offset right
You use the seven pin pick on #1. The eight pin pick is used for #2,#3,#4.
#2,#3,#4 all have their pins 45 degrees from each other but #3 and #4 are missing one pin left or right of top center. The pin positions allows the eight pin pick to work on these three locks. (one pin of the pick simply does nothing.) The point of reference for the pins is 12'oclock.
#1 only seven pins, but they are located slightly off the of the centerline. Effectively lining up between the picking pins of the eight pin pick. The point of reference for the pins is 22.5 degrees off of 12'oclock.
