Bogota Arch pick from Serepick/Raimundo

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

JUST to clarify that previous post, I am only saying that I know these deforest pick types and have great confidence in the general utility of this pair, I am not saying that I will take back any picks that have been bent, re-straightened, and generally over forced, these are actually particularly slim picks, not weak, they can get into some complicated keyways, but are not made to force aside the warding or reshape the plug or cylinder in any way, but they are very capable of moving pins under the usual coil springs and light tension, which is the most successful way of picking.

and if I had not made them for the OP, I would be quite happy to own them myself, actually Im gonna make myself a pair just like em after I get off the intertubes today.

now that I have some time to elaborate on these deforests rai was kind enough to make for me there's something i feel should be said about his picks. being a novice/amateur lock picker i have to say that using rai's custom tools have helped me evolve in probably every way one can when learning a new hobby such as this. i won't go into details because the pros already know what im talking about most likely while the noobs aren't going to. aside from the obvious (craftsmanship, innovation, artistry, ect.), the handle design is what i think some people overlook when it comes to rai's picks. its amazing no locksmith had ever found this alternative design themselves decades ago. again, im a novice, but after learning proper tension, feedback is the most important stepping stone when it came to me developing my skills. it wasn't until i got my first set of bogotas from serepick that i really felt i could see what was going on inside the keyway while i went at it. now i have these deforests and im opening locks that have given some well known people on here a very hard time from what ive read. to each their own, but i would not be surprised if eventually rai's design will be considered the norm for many if not most lock picks. thanks again raimundo, and thank you columbia :!:

unfortunately, I've yet to get a set for myself. I guess I'll have to wait until serepick gets some and hopefully they'll have a double sided bogota pick as well.
