Old Ilco key cutter

Postby Idgas » 24 May 2011 16:38

This past weekend I went to buy some locks from a guy who was selling off the remnants of his grandfather's locksmith business. He has one key cutter from Ilco that was portable, cased (looked like what portable typewriters used) with no visible model numbers and at least 30 years old. There are no pictures as my wife lost them when she hosed her iPhone.

Does this very vague description sound familiar to anyone?

I will send a link to the guy and also ask for pictures. If it worth anything I would like for him receive a fair price.

This is not is offer to sell only a request for assistance from more expert person than I to help someone out.

Nope...to vague. Case is likely home-made as well. Key machines can last a very long time if properly maintained, so until there's some pictures offered i.d.ing is pretty tough.

I'm hoping that the owner/grandson sends me a few pics soon.

Note the case is original, the cutter was designed to be portable.

Ah k..then I'll take the easy way out and take a guess that its either an old Ilco, Dominion, or Curtis machine. 8)

HI am looking for an old ILCO small key cutting machine that was part of a locksmithing course in the mid 1960s. Does anyone have one laying around or know where can find one ? Thanks
