Custom pick makers national exposure

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL YOU PICK MAKERS!

I just looked into the newest National Locksmith magazine and there are all these beautiful picks we have been seeing for some time now. A tip of the hat and a pat on the back to all of you.

A few specialists were not included that should have been.

Any way. Kudos to all.

Yeah I just saw the article. Great to see that some of our best pick makers have made it into the mainstream.

Hey, I'd like to read that article! Just that, not the whole magazine. I was told one of my picks could be there. Is it possible?

Thanks :)

I would also like to read that since I know a couple of my picks are in there.

I just ordered an electronic subscription. Here's hoping that includes the newest issue!

I did, as well: I figured it wasn't that much, and they advertise that it includes access to the back-issues as well.

...however, it's been two days since I received my subscription order confirmation, and I just get an error message when I try to log in to their "digital edition" website; anyone else (who's already a subscriber) recall whether access took a while to get set up? (I'll probably just call them on Monday, when they're open.)

I had the same problem and used the "contact support" button on the login screen. I do remember that TILJ took a day or two to set up, so I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case. Hopefully they'll get it sorted out.

I can't answer about electronic subscriptions but EVERYTHING about TNL is slow and clunky.

Like many locksmiths, in many ways TNL is still in the 1970's.

Hey guys:

Remember that this is also a *Holiday Weekend* and locksmith organizations function more like really folksy old-fashioned banks than super-uber-high tech on-line content distributors like Amazon or iTunes...

I'm on the edge of my seat, so maybe someone who's seen it can tell me. Whose picks are featured? I know one of our members was writing an article like this (I won't name him in case this is a different article) and contacted me for more information, but I don't know where he was submitting the article.

It was the member you are thinking of, I sent him a PM asking about the article, he said when it gets physically published that he would be in touch with the guys who's picks were featured. I know a couple pictures of mine are in there, some of Ratyokes picks are in there. I haven't actually seen the article so I only know of his and mine right now.

Whew... no kidding. Finally just spoke to a guy on the phone there: it apparently takes six weeks to set up the website access, once they charge your credit card. (It's also a bit odd that their customer service e-mails come out from some guy's personal AOL account, rather than a National Locksmith address... here's hoping the digital issues don't arrive on floppy disk.)

Anyhow, looking forward to seeing the article, sometime in July... :?

Not sure who the clueless person you talked to was, but go to http://www.thenationallocksmith-digital.com and click the "support" button on the login window, then explain that you subscribed last weekend and can't get in to see the new issue. I did that and they got back to me this morning with a direct link including my subscriber number (so you don't even need to log in).

This would be fantastic!

Just a tip: instead of scanning the paper magazine, you should extract the cover and the pages of the article from the pdf version of the magazine, that you can download from their website. The result will be a smaller file and an easy to read and better defined document.
Shoot me a PM if you need help on this.

Cheers :)
