Is this a good set of lockpicks?

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Sounds like a good starter set, varied with different tools, and the 2 tension wrenches should be enough.

I'm missing an S rake here, good tool, especially if you are beginning. I can also advice you to take a twistflex tension tool with that, they are great!

Just a suggestion. This is a good solid start!

That sounds like more than enough for someone who is just starting out in this hobby. 8) But I would take Skyers advice on adding more variety to your tension wrench selection.

I would get the TW-15 and the TW-03 along with those two you already mentioned.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

The TW-15, or Double Wishbone from what I can see, could be used for shutters on autos, to keep the shutter in the open position while picking.

The long hook(and even the medium hook in the jack knife) are too big for any lock you will come across.

@eurolock +1

there are people who think hooks are the only real pick, but you seldom see anyone mention that most of the commercial picks and hooks included are huge in a tiny keyway.

commercial picks are built as prybars, and used to scrape away the internal warding of a brass plug with their sharp 90degree edges,

You can tell this by the brass filings that come out on the pickshaft and the swaybacked look of the pick shaft after much use. You cannot bend a good pickshaft by using the tool properly to simply lift pins against the spring and slight binding of proper tension. I thinned down shaft rounded on the edges to eliminate digging into warding can easily pick locks with light tension.
Frustration is a sign of bad technique, if your getting cramps in your hand your doing it wrong.
Wake up and smell the Kafka!!!
