bump keys are not picks, slowing down the travel of pins may prevent bumping, but it cannot slow them down so much that they don't press down on the key bittings as they must to align at the shear,
in fact since picking is all about lifting pins and getting them to sit at the shear, this product may actually help in picking since it will retard the springs that push pins down, and where will this drag have its most effect, on the tiny step that is formed between the plug and the cylinder. It could affect some peoples technique, but that is only if they are picking fast.
most likely this sludge will help picking if you understand that pins are coming down slowly.
your best defense against bumping is to know what the common keyways are and avoid using them, anyone who thinks bumping is a way to open locks without skill hasn't factored for all the different keyways you would have to have bumps cut for.
Bumping makes schlageC kwickset weiser and that bunch even more insecure than they are designed to be.
yes, someone who knows exactly what keyway to expect could of course cut a bumper on that blank, they would have to be knowlegable of keyways, blanks etc, but since bumping is mainly for the unskilled and ignorant, its unlikely that some
superspy who knows your keyway will be so unskilled as to not know several other more effective ways to open it, like impressioning, picking, bypassing, etc.
Wake up and smell the Kafka!!!
