Hello everybody,
I recently became re-interested in lock picking from a childhood interest and came upon this site.
Time to lurk and learn ;)

Hello, I came about this site while searching for tools and it seems to be a valuable resource. I am starting a roadside assistance company and will offer a vehicle lock out service. I'll be honest, I don't know much about it but I will learn while I go. I was hoping that someone on here might give me some advice on what kind of tools are crucial for vehicle lockouts and a good set/kit that won't be too expensive. I'd like to keep it under $200.00 if possible. I was looking at the AK60 and I'm just not sure if this kit will be adequate. I need something that is well rounded. Please give me your opinions so I'll be able to make a good decision.
Thank you,
Brian a.k.a. alltimels

Hi everybody.
I love puzzles, security (both making and breaking it) and figuring out how things work so picking was a fantastic convergence of hobbies.
I never really thought about getting into picking until I needed to get into a workshop on my yard, some yahoo (read: me) lost the only key before we could get a copy made so it stayed locked for weeks. The door had a handle so one day, in a fit of handymanliness, I broke the lock just by leaning on it heavily. Unfortunately I also bent the door frame....
I spent the last four years looking back on that moment with pride and finally decided I wanted to learn how to open locks without resorting to brute force. So far my only experience is reading Deviant Ollam's "Practical Lock Picking" and buying a cheap kit but I already feel like I've picked up a lifelong hobby.

Hi everyone,
I'm new to locksmithing and came to the site after viewing a youtube video where the person spoke about the site. I became interested in this after locking my keys in my truck, again! I would like to make a set of picks and jigglers where I would be able to access a storage unit I have where I no longer have the keys as well as have the set in a holder that would mount to my belt. I figure a pistol magazine case would work just fine. Any suggestions on where to get started would be appreciated.

Hello again, I've been away for a while but I'm back. My LP101 t-shirt looks like an 80's rock band shirt. Think it may be time for a new one. Anyways, hello and thanks for having me.

Hello friends, I'm new here. I am Brazilian and I live in Rio de Janeiro. My English is not very good. I'm putting together a business key chain, key copy machine purchased, various tools, I made up a few keys to opening Feeler. I have little experience as a locksmith and I'm here to learn and get tips.

Hello all: I work as a LEO in Maryland and use my amateurish lock picking skills at work (usually to help people back into their homes). I'm looking to increase my knowledge base and skills.

Just a quick intro from me.
I am London based and the only time I have picked a lock was my work locker and I just jammed one side of scissors in - well it worked but only once!
Never knew of this as a hobby or sport though and came across it whilst looking for magic trick stores - they sold bits such as hand cuffs and a lock pick guide. Decided to move off the magic site and look up lock pick info.
Glad I did as I came across this site.
I have always been a fiddler/take things apart and enjoy mechanics and such so hopefully I will enjoy this and progress through varying difficulties lock.
Look forward to joining in the discussions and do expect a few questions from me!
Regards.

Hi from Atlanta
I just started picking a month ago with an MPXS-14 set and a few locks. I've since gotten some bump keys and a Bogota Titan set. So far I can get Kwiksets somewhat consistently using several different techniques and tools, but I've only managed to rake a Master Lock #3 once, and have never been able to SPP it. The taller key pins are toward front of the keyway so I suppose I'm either oversetting those or applying the wrong amount of tension. Anyway, it's been a great hobby and I decided to register here after a month of lurking.
