wafer on the bog roll

i was in town the other day and i was overcome by the sudden urge to visit the toilet... (as you do) anyways, i couldnt help noticing the lock on the bogroll holder, it was a double sided wafer, by this i mean it had wafers on the top and bottom. could anyone tell me how you can open these sort of locks with homemade picks, what sort of pick do i use?

Usually, these are the simplest kind of locks. You can use a (half)ball, (half)diamond or even just a simple hook pick. Just make sure you put your turning tool in the right place where it won't be in the way. These locks are comparable to the ones found on floppy disk containers (the kind with the see-through plastic lid). I also came across the same type of locks in a hotel strong box that was screwed into the base of a closet. Opened in 60 seconds.

My advice would be to get the right torque wrench for the lock. You would want one that doesn't block the lower pins while you are setting the upper pins (Are they called pins in a wafer lock?)

Once you have the correct torque wrench then you can use which ever pick you find easiest for the task and just go through setting the pins on the top then the bottom, or alternate and set the furthest pin on the top then the furthest pin on the bottom, etc.

i think the 'pins' in a wafer lock are called wafers??? im not sure but thanks for the advice

Wow! You must really want to change the roll of paper. Mine at home is not locked, I just wait for the wife to do it.

unfortunatlly my wife and i have seperate toilets so when u run out of bog roll .. wife dont change and picking dont help .. only shouting to the kids .. Hey be good boy and get me some bog roll .... ..

funny to se we all have same problems (small problems, not like getting me brand new brushless,li-po plane stuck 30 meters in a tree this morning ) ) lol

... ok...... originally came into this thread to find out what a bog roll is.... never heard it called that before - conjures up images of a roll of bogs......

actually - the "bogroll" holder lock is the only lock that I've picked that I havn't owned or been given permission to pick. I used a tiny wrench made out of a wind screen wiper blade and this:
