Lockwood Security Cylindrs (Australia)

Postby cameron_2791 » 16 Sep 2011 4:56

Hi i'm fairly new to picking, but my friend has been doing it for a while now, he has lockwood "Security" cylinders on his door and swears that he has picked it, although with great difficulty. I have tried very hard and to no avail. I was wondering if anybody is familiar with these particular locks, and could offer me any information on them? Are they pickable? or is my friend just having me on? i have done a fair bit of research online and lockwood say they are resistant to "hammer" and "Wrench attacks" i don't know what that means, but is doesn't offer any information regarding picking or bumping. I'm pretty sure it is a Lockwood 355, I'll post a pic of the cylinder as well. Any info would be greatly apppreciated. :o

first of all site rules say that you are not to pick a lock in use!
what happens if you break it and cant get in.

and that does not say not pickable does it,of course you can pick it,it may be that it has sercuity pins in it and it proberly has,i surjest you get one that is not in a door to play with.

look at this link
viewtopic.php?t=17879
it means you get the top pin stuck at the share line and you need to go up higher.or you may be picking them to high, very light tension is needed to pick a lock.

really i sould not be helping you at all as you are picking a lock in use,but if i do not explain you will do it anyway.

and if you turn it 180 you may get pins falling out,as people keep saying i have not had it happen to me but if it does then the lock will nolonger work with keys or picks
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=47988
that is what happens

so what have we learned do not pick locks in use(or at least don't say you are doing)

ok, thanks mate, appreciate it, and i was unaware about the site rule of not being allowed to pick locks in use, thanks for telling me. i really just wanted to know if it were possible to pick that particular cylinder or not, just to know if my friend was really able to do it...
