Either the bottom of the keyway or top of the keyway. I prefer top of the keyway, since it gives me more room to work. It's up to each individuals preference though.

i would go for the top as it keeps the tension equal.rather than the bottom where its slitely out.i learned at the bottom then decided to go to top.
but sometimes you just cant go at the top

Depends on what locks you working on
some locks will be pick better using top tension
some othes will go with bottom tension
you got it learned the bottom as well the top
