First of all, apologies if this is in the wrong section (or even the wrong forum!) but I am after some advice about fitting new euro cylinder locks to my own home.
If I am in totally the wrong place would someone please direct me to somewhere which may help?
I have recently bought a new house for me and my family and am wanting to change the cylinders on my doors (which I think I'll be able to do myself). All three are uPVC doors with euro cylinders. I've looked around at cylinders and they seem to differ in price from about £7 upto £150 each! I would like decent locks but don't want to pay over the odds for something just because of a brand name.
I have spoken to a locksmith in the local area who advised I buy ASEC cylinders and fit those. He quoted me £40 for each cylinder, which at the time I didn't think was too bad, until I looked on a few websites and found they can be bought for less than £10 each

My questions are: What is the main difference between a cylinder costing £10 and one costing £150 (apart from the size)? (is it anti-snapping and anti-bumping?) and are the ASEC cylinders as good as any others but just cheaper?? or do you get what you pay for?
Thanks for your help in advance and sorry once again if this is in totally the wrong place
