Hey, All...
I've got a question regarding BMW's deadlocking system, specifically BYPASSING it.
I've tried to research/search this forum to find a thread...perhaps it's an advanced topic I can't access at this juncture...
Anyhoo, I recently bought Z-Tool/Slide Lock Tool's Grand Master Kit; in the manual's section on Beemers, it has only a handful of models (below 1995) that can be opened by their kit. The rest, according to them, cannot be opened due to the deadlock feature, and those owners must be referred to BMW Corp. to have coded keys cut for 'em.
Then, just the other day, I noticed on HighTech Tools website that they have a "BMW Kit", with a "special tool" & manual to bypass the deadlock system...does anyone know if this kit is legit?? The tool, from what I can make out in the picture, resembles a LONG Slim Jim, with a smaller one swivel-attached about a third of the way along the main one, and has a pull-wire also. When I contacted HighTech, they said the tool enters the interior and "pushes a button on the dash". Sounds like alot of hype, but I'll leave it to forum members to judge the validity of this tool & kit.
Any info, good or bad, is welcome...this topic I'm sure has been covered SOMEWHERE in this forum--I just cannot seem to find the proper thread for it.
Thanks for the assist, guys/gals!
