I'm hoping that you were trying to be funny when you wrote
"Stuiped Question"

those tension tools are often called "wishbone" tension tools - when used on normal locks (if they fit) you put one prong in the top and one in the bottom. they are more commonly used in auto locks where they hold open the flappy thing that covers the keyway.

Search on "Wishbone" wrenches.

LOL!

Thanks Whitehat, I have one of these tools also. Never used it yet. I thought that ring was to adjust how wide you want the tool to open.

You mean the little metal loop isnt for adjustment...I seriously wondered when I got mine. Always thought: "That sure doesn't adjust it much", but there was no way I was going to ask that quesiton.

the falle tensioners are adjustable manually with nuts. so I guess there's less chance of them "popping" out due to the outward pressure that the wishbone applies.

I've allways pronounced it "fail" because Falle's company is called Falle safe security - which I guess is a play on "fail safe".... could be wrong though.

Hello all

Have been lurking for a week and am totally new to all of this. Reading as much of the site as possible and of course using the Search button

Just wanted say thanks for all the information and time you all have and do put in.

Now on topic, well sort of, but am thinking Falle could be German which means trap or latch and then could be used as a play on words when looked at in that way. I say german because that is the only place I have run into this word/last name.

Pronunciation would be more like:
fa-y-eh with the double LL pronounced like in english word "billion" - a soft y.

Of course the German people here could give a better explanation on how to pronounce this as my german is what I picked up in bars/pubs whilst living there.

Hope this helps as so far can not provide anything else to the site.

Well, Falle may be of German decent, I do believe that he is in fact British. I would have to look again, as it has been some time and all, but I seem to remember it being that way.

I've always assumed it was pronounced "fall" although the previous idea that it could be pronounced "fail" could be correct as well.

We'll find out one way or the other.

Yes I looked it up before posting and the mention of British is what I found as well.

Yes could be both "fall" or "fail". I just thought it interesting the fact of the Germanic tranlation into "trap" or "latch" along with the word "safe" and just progressed from there for the name play.

As a british person i thought it was pronounced "fal" because as you well know the english language has so many exceptions to the rules.
