Rick I gotta say that's the biggest score I've ever heard of. I'm jealous. I used to work for an un-named yet very large building company here in michigan, and we'd put up subdivisions at a time. Someone jacked the set of keys that opened every lock in the development, so I got the total joy of replacing every one of them, taking the still-new ones that i replaced with me. In total, some 50+ schlage deadbolts, a ton of KW key in knobs, and the medeco mortice cyl. that was for the office door. That medeco still gives me trouble

My girlfriend is awesome. She was at IKEA in New Haven, Connecticut (New England USA) and texts me a message saying "the ASSA Abloy building is just down the street!"
It's nice when your girlfriend knows what ASSA Abloy is and sends you tips when she sees cool stuff like that =)
She also has her own HPC pick set and box of locks, and actually picked a BEST sfic padlock that I couldn't pick.

All new users should rejoice... I'll be putting down the ban hammer and picking up an acoustic guitar. Come sit with me friends as we sing songs about love, friendship, and all of God's creatures. Squelchtone

The restore had new in box everest deadbolts for $12 a piece had I not been such a noob and actually known what they were I would have bought more than one! But my most recent trip to the restore I got a $5 securekey door knob.

@Squelchtone: That would be the Sargent Locks Division US headquarters... That IKEA store is located on Sargent Drive... (It used to be the only one in New England before the awesome one opened up in Stoughton, MA which is actually in Massachusetts and not hours and hours away down I-95 or I-84/I-91 to shop at IKEA) ~~ Evan

Nope. (Please don't correct me when I know what I'm talking about.) Not just Sargent, it is ASSA Abloy Americas Door Security Solutions Headquarters. The Sargent building is next door. http://www.assaabloydss.com/en/local/ds ... ontact-us/Company Headquarters ASSA ABLOY Door Security Solutions 110 Sargent Drive New Haven, CT 06511 The brands supported out of that office: http://www.assaabloydss.com/en/local/dss/Brands/

I recently had a similar experience when I traveled to Texas. We were there for a week so I looked up some Restores that were a close drive and the ones I found were similar to the ones you described. All brand new stuff, nothing used. All the locks were either retail knobs/deadbolts a few dollars less than home depot, lots of passage locks, lots of . I did get some AR1 and DE6 blanks because they were 10 cents a piece, but that was it.
I am thinking that either the Restores are getting more traffic because the economy is down or that they are mentioned on these and many other forums quite often. Also, maybe less people are doing home 'upgrades' because of the economy as well.

Now that I posted the 831/826 cylinders, I'll tell the story... So this lady posted some locks one eBay, nothin fancy, but I noticed her location was local. So I sent her a message and her shop was right around the corner from my parents' house. So I run out on my lunch break to see what she has..... Turns out the guy that used to run the place was a medeco wholesaler and they are gettin rid of ALL the NOS Medeco supplies that they won't sell on a regular basis. They have a whole room of medeco locks and parts..... So I get first dibs before it goes on eBay So the lady is showing me what they have and while looking around I see on the shelf is a box labeled "S&G cylinders" so I'm thinking "yeah right"... Look in the box and there are 17 of them!!! Also picked up a 826 in almost brand new condition and several other various locks and parts I needed. I'm going back in a few days to get more stuff, so if you need a medeco part, just let me know cause she might have it! and that's my biggest score story.
