So I was working on a project at work and had some steel left over. I was looking at the sturdy strike marker and decided to make my own. It really helps to have a gigantic engine lathe. I had it complete before I even thought to take any before or in progress pictures. It is 2.125†long and 1†in diameter. The striking end has a heavy ledge to accommodate a large screwdriver or chisel. I drilled out the marking end and installed a removable M2 hardened steel point. The whole this is made of 1018 cold rolled steel. I was planning on oil quench hardening the whole thing but it is plenty hard on its own.

These things are usually $50-$60 dollars and I figured free was a pretty good discount.
Would anybody be interested in one? I have a little bit of steel left and could make 2 or 3 more.
Possibly $20 + shipping if anybody interested.
PM Me.
