I found this light-hearted video which shows how to make a lock pick from a hack saw blade. You will have to skip about half way into the video though since that's when the guy begins making the lock pick. Hopefully, it will be helpful to someone  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbVoqe9k_Kg

The video description bothers me a little lol... "Lock picking may have seemed easy, but that is only because I was using 6-pin or under locks in this video. If you have a newer door, it will most likely have more than 6-pins and will be more difficult to do."Sorry but... what?
