RUKO default set key pin problem with snap!

Postby habdi » 1 Dec 2011 13:19

Hi everyone,

I have a 6-pin RUKO lock with only spools in it. It has been impossible for me to open with my snap-gun; so, I figured I would try to remove some pins. First I tried with a single pin, it worked like a charm. Then I put in the second which has the deepest key-pin possible (meaning that it is set by default), and it was again impossible to pick :(

Any tips on how to beat those pins when using a snap-gun?

Any help is appreciated - thanks!

Well since you noticed that 2nd pin to be that deep (of course within limits, otherwise I don't see how a key would work if it had to elevate a pin higher than the keyway) I'd suggest changing alignment of your snap-gun or even better get a feathertouch tensor tool.

Also does your snapgun pick other locks properly? Is its pick deformed by use?
