Taking apart an American 700

Postby New York Novice » 28 Sep 2004 18:36

I,m getting ready to re-pin an old style 700 to match several other 700's so I thought while I have it open I'll take it all apart and clean it out. 1st question is what type of grease do I want to use on the ball bearings and 2nd question is how do you get the shackle to release from the body of the lock?

thanks

With the lock open, remove the allen head pin in the back. Be careful not to lose the ball bearings that lock the shackle.
I would use white lithium, but thats just me. :P
