Commercial or residental? What price range? I'm a fan of the new Arrow Revolution keypads but it really depends on the application to determine what is most appropriate to install.

For the price and build I like the Kaba E-Plex 2000 that needs no batteries. We have yet to have a failure. I do not like Alarm Lock units, we continue to sell them but do have a high return rate and even get new units that are defective. Also Alarm Lock's warranty starts on date of manufacture. We have bought new units with expired warranties!

We've run into that same problem on Alarmlocks. Really frustrating for the customers.

The buildings I work in have IEI ProxKey readers on the front doors. I think they work just fine and the fobs seem durable (never get people needing new ones for any reason). They're a nightmare to program, though, and I'm sure there's a better product out there.

michael12: we have not heard a reply from you on this topic since you posted it on December 14th. Before everyone goes off on a tangent, could you please describe what exactly you are trying to do?

Is this to convert your home deadbolt to a deadbolt with a keypad on it that you can press a code and get in? Are you looking for a prox card swipe system to give employees cards to get into an office building?

Please clarify what you meant, thanks!
