Can't open my dudley combo. lock

Postby feelgoodya » 21 Feb 2012 0:31

Hey guys, not sure if this is the right section but I need help. I have a dudley sitting beside my right now doing nothing and I'm going back to school on wednesday so I need a lock. rather than buy a new one I'd like to use this one. Problem is I don't know the combo. After doing some research online I found out about sticky spots and multiples of 3 and all sorts of other tutorials but they don't apply to my lock. Most of the locks in tutorials go up to 59 and have blue dials etc.

My lock is asilver lock with a silver dial. It goes from 0-39 only. on the back it says:
414
0300462
3411

It has a keyhole.
Any help appreciated, thanks.

Hello and welcome :)

IMHO most, like 99.9% of people who own a lock they can't open because they either don't have its keys or don't know its combination, will get a new lock from a store rather than posting in lockpicking forum

Anyway, combination locks manipulation is forbidden in the public forums, you'd have to stick around here long enough to get access to the advanced forums, though given your needs walking in a hardware store is your easiest and quickest solution :)

Cheers :D

a keyway on the back usually means that it's an institutional lock (one that often belongs to a school) which kinda sets off some alarm bells that you *may* not actually own this lock, which would make opening it distinctly naughty. it may well be your lock, many of us i'm sure have similar locks in our collections, but it doesn't sound good as a first post.

Feelgoodya,

It is now Wednesday, I hope all went well at school. Did you purchase a new lock?
