Hey Guys (Do you like my equipment?)

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Hi, I'm fairly new to this forums but I've been reading the stuff on here for about 5 months now hehe.

So anyways I've been picking some basic locks; Masterlock No.1 and No. 3, and my garage door and some luggae locks.
The equipment i'm using are made from myself for the pick i mad a shorthook out of the earpiece from eyeglasses and used some pliers to bend them and for the tension wrench ive been using some metal piece from a hair clip, just a question on asking what do you guys think about my equipment(i know fairly noobish)

Hello and welcome :)

Congrats on your first accomplishments, though I won't recommend picking locks in use since chances of damaging something you rely on are too great, specially with improvised tools.

To begin with, I'd say that you need to familiarize with commercial lock picks or you'd shape some by yourself, just gather some good metal stock or sweeper bristles, a file/dremel, a vice, and the templates found in this thread viewtopic.php?f=4&t=17326

Improvised picks are, well, just improvised and can't be compared to better made stuff with proper materials, it's one of those things which does wonders in movies and clog your lock's keyway in real life.

Also check out the other tutorials you'll find sticked at the beginning of each section, you'll find out that most questions you may think as of now have been already answered a lot of times here by very knowledgeable people, that's where the search function comes handy too.

Cheers :D
