Lock cylinders with screw caps

Postby clearmoon247 » 23 Apr 2012 9:06

I was wondering if anyone knew of what lock cylinder models have removable screw caps that hold the pin stack in place to make them easier for repinning. I have heard that the medeco biaxial is like this and i plan to get one shortly, but i was hopeful that i could find some other style locks as well with this same feature. I am aware of the ultimate lock pick training lock that's a 6 pin and I have purchased this:http://www.ebay.com/itm/130668572655?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
I am able to repin a normal lock cylinder, but having the screw caps just makes the job alot simpler.
Thanks so much in advance guys

Many profile cylinders as well as Medeco mortise and rim cylinders (not just Biaxial).

It is much faster though to recombinate without screw caps IMHO. Just dump everything out, reload your springs and top pins and load your bottom chambers. I can probably do this before you could unscrew and screw back in 2 chambers. Plus it is a skill you will need as the majority of cylinders do not have screw caps.

Kwikset locks are perhaps the easiest, the entire cap just pops off and snaps back on in a second, opening up all chambers at once.
