299 is $18,000 399 Evo is $30,000.

The Evo plus from what I can see is a 3 axis machine instead of the 299 2 axis, also it can have an auto feeder for cutting multiple keys at once.

Don't forget that these way about 20kg so on top of what ever savings you might get from buying one from the states add on the postage, then on top of that the machine will be 110v so you will need to step the voltage down on the machine. If something breaks on it and you need to get it serviced I doubt LSC would want to touch it. Then unless you know all the cards for the keys that you want to cut you will need something like Instacode to cut the keys, so add $2,500 on top of the cost of the machine.

If you do decide for the unicode you only need the 299 as you wont be needing any of the functions on the 399.

Most importantly, what is your budget for this and what do you expect to get out of the machine?

What does a 3 axis machine mean?

The auto feeder seems useful though, but it sounds like it could break easily, which then would require servicing...

Yes I understand that. But I'd doubt that postage would cost as much as the savings (i.e. 30K-8K or so). And I think I can order it in 240V? (I could be wrong on that though)

I already have Instacode 2008. Old I know, but it still works well for most things.

Budget is around $5K and it's mainly for convenience. At the moment I'm getting most of keys getting cut by a locksmith in the area (which is a 10 minute drive and the visits are getting a bit too much I think). As you know, in real estate especially with tenants, locks needs to be rekeyed quite frequently, which needs code cut keys.

As in it can cut on an X, Y and Z axis, you don't need this unless you are doing dimple keys ( there maybe other keys out there that will need this, but I haven't come across any yet.

This alone would nearly blow your budget

No harm in trying, but I'm sure that if you try order from an over seas supplier they are going to tell you to contact a local supplier, they wont be allowed to sell to Countries that have their own suppliers.

Yep, that will do everything that you need, BUT, I believe that there are extra modules for Instacode for it to communicate with some machines, you might have issues having it drive the machine but you can always manually input the cards.

I really think that you are going to struggle getting anything for that price, you are kinda limited to getting something from over seas unless you know a Locksmith here that will help you out.

Yeah I'm just looking around at the moment. I might not get the Unocode afterall because spending more than $5K for getting something overseas doesn't seem to be worth it. The reason why I was looking into the Unocode is because Globallocky actually suggested that to me when I said that I was looking for an ITL 950C. It's a nice machine yes, but it does seem to be an overkill for me.

Well I know I can get the HPC Codemax for around $4K from overseas. So that's what I might end up doing. I'm sure that many users that are satisfied with the HPC Codemax, so perhaps it isn't such a bad investment after all.

I have never used one so I can't comment on the machine, but being a HPC product I don't see how it can be bad..
