Yale & Towne Pick Set

Postby yalepickset » 4 Jun 2012 22:25

Hi, I recently acquired this antique pick set. Two of the picks are marked Yale & Towne Mfg. Co. Stamford Conn. U.S.A

Any ideas if these have any value?

In the close up photo, the one on the left appears to have some tool marks like sand paper or such on the shaft of the key, as if it were a key that was modified to be a pick. while the one on the right appears to be all factory mfg. Perhaps one of the set got lost or screwed up and it was replaced.

They are very interesting pickkeys, I would like to see the locks that they were fore, though looking at them it seems they might even be just for luggage locks, those little one tumbler heavy spring devices.

whats the price point on them, pm me and let me know.

All I can think of is schuyler towne and his talk about the great lock debacle of 1812

They look very much like a set I have for warded padlocks, especially the older types, but not just Yale.

Thy are for warded locks. As for value, probably only of interest to someone collecting Yale stuff.
