Some of my picks

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Now I know it works and how to put piccys on I will put more on! even my new ( hated so far) electric pick gun... for what it's worth - maybe in action if I can get it to work reliably, stick to manual picks :!:

picture update

Postby sidpick » 3 Oct 2004 6:16

gaf089 - No, saving for it as you know, will bring it up and will let you know results - prob after x mas

The picks in my box now are probably worth £1500 or a bit more I have been getting them over a period of about 4 years - most are worth every penny! I like to have lots of options available because I cant practice all the time!

More piccys:
Image
from left to right, a really old hand made chubb 114 decode system, The RB locktools 114 kit, which is well made but takes a while to make the key up, and the safe ventures 114 pin and cam - excellent!

Image
Picks out! if one of these don't do it, I'm packing up and going home!!

Image
Home brew key turners for mortice locks, piano wire from a model shop and black shrink wrap handles, Brass long one is for outward opening night latch's

Image
Picks I use the most, couple of hand made tension's recently made from a flat steel knife - there great, not to the spec's of the book but they are stainless steel and thin enough for a pick gun or manual pick to go along the side not obstructing the keyway

Image
My lock 'recce' kit, got some mortice blanks, cut off the bit, stamped with the pin gauge. The red bit is an old drill bit box which has different keyway heights scribed onto it to help lock I.D

Image
Chubb cruiser pick and decode kit made from blanks, each cut to the diffent lever height to decode the lock. RB tools pick with the tension arm bent for comfort. Spacers not shown help when decoding, just another key blank 1 spacer cut the bolt width and 4 spacers the same thickness of a lever

Love this site, could post pictures all day now I know how! thanks romstar!

Wow, that's a nice set of tools.

What are those in the black boxes to the far right and far left of the top picture? Are those some more of Falle's/Safeventures decoders?

falle/safe ventures kits

Postby sidpick » 3 Oct 2004 6:27

Yep they sure are, tibbe pick - had it a year only worked it out after I went out and bought a ford! cool tool to use once you've got the knack, I'm still very novice on it! curtain pick which is a nice tool, busted the lifter arm once or twice but I find it fun to pick with. The other kits are decode systems which I find great too :)

I've got two things to say;

1) It's nice to see some hacksaw blades in amongst the Falle picks.
2) A car sure is an expensive practice lock. I thought I'd gone over the top with the BiLock cylinder....

Oh, and one thing to ask.

1) Can I have your picks? :)
