Avoiding master wafer getting stuck

Postby toolfrog11 » 4 Aug 2012 17:26

So I've done the requisite searching and I'm sure there's probably an answer to this question somewhere but it wasn't readily apparent to me.

Is there a sure way to avoid having the master wafer get stuck at 180 deg.? There was a suggestion that putting the long end of the tension wrench in while turning would do the trick but that doesn't seem like it would work every time - anybody have any favorite solutions?

@toolfrog:

Whether you have a master pin or a top pin drop into the open gap at the bottom of the plug while you are turning it after picking the solution is the same, you need to use a pick in the lock to be able to push the upper pins back up into their chambers as you rotate the lock past 180° of motion...

Welcome to LP101, since you are a new member here let me take a moment to remind you to read the site rules and not to pick locks which you do not own and/or are in use...

I generally just turn a hook pick upside down.
