SFIC Gate latch

Postby gswimfrk » 2 Sep 2012 0:23

Hello all!

I am looking for an SFIC gate latch that is double cylinder. The type that is often seen on pool gates that fits Best cores (7 Pins). I have been having some trouble finding these locally through locksmiths and what have you... Does anyone know where to buy or order these from? Preferably a gate latch that guards the screws when in the locked position...

Something like this...

Thanks

The dead bolt uses a mortise cylinder .. just use a SFIC mortise cylinder + a spring latch

hope this helps

Thanks Keysman!!!

I have seen those before but I am unsure as to what spring latch to use? I haven't used those deadbolts before, so I am unfamiliar as to how those are installed. I'm thinking any Schlage deadbolt spring latch will work?

Thanks,

The schalge B252 is a double cylinder latchbolt.

I wouldnt be surprised you could find SFIC cyls for it.

I don't think you can use a spring latch with the Lori type lock.

We normally use an Adamsrite latch lock with screw in SFIC mortise cylinders. However if you already have a cylindrical prep gate box that won't work.

You can use Schlage if ordered for SFIC, you can use Falcon similarly specified, or you can use Arrow. Lastly Korean manufacturers that sell under the LSDA, General, Cal-Royal all are making a double cylinder gate latch with SFIC prep.

Forgot to mention, on the Schlage you need to go with the B500 or B600 series to get SFIC and order the 2 3/8" or 2 3/4" latch separately.

Thanks Everyone!!!

I have a 2-3/8" cylindrical gate box welded on the gate. The schlage B series solution sounds like a good plan.

To provide context for the application... this lock will be used often on an apartment common pedestrian gate, will the original pool latch solution be okay for medium-heavy use? What do other people install in this scenario?

Thanks again for everyone's help. :D
