Congratulations! These machines are great occasional key cutters. They are not designed for speed or commercial volume. This old one you have has a better motor than the similar model available today. Replacement file cutters are relatively cheap too.
I still have one available in an old typewriter case. It has two motors, one original 110volt and the other a 12volt I added. I used to carry it with a 12volt motorcycle battery to cut keys in large buildings when there was no power.
Nothing is foolproof to a talented fool. Wisdom is not just in determining how to do something, but also includes determining whether it should be done at all.
