The designs are pretty standard, so no worries there, question though;
do the picks get thinner as you make your way through the feeler gauges? and, How do you actually hold them when you use them? It looks like there is no lock on the handle, so you end up with a very short grip on the pick, and then the rest of the picks/gauges flop around at the joint. Is this comfortable?
Thanks for the quick reply, i bought 4 of these gauges from a harbor freight store at about 1.50 a piece i just took out the real flimsy ones and replaced them with the larger sizes from the other gauges. I left some of the gauges in there just as filler to make it a little more substantial. Yes they do vary in size a little, if you know about gauges you know what i mean but its really minute. It doesnt have a lock so i do have to grip kind of close but im thinking that i will round out a place for my finger so its not so sharp. Its still a work in progress i was looking for something that would fit in my pocket with a wide variety of picks. Thanks again.
Good job! It looks good! I'd love to have one.....If I didn't already have so many thing in my pockets.... A knife, a phone, pen/pencil, 6" ruler, ear plugs, smokes/lighter, note pad, multi tool, my keys, wallet.............. ......Wait a minute, I've got more things in my pockets than my wife has in her purse.
why doncha find one of those cheap pens that has a small piece of thin metal tubing around where it screws open in the center, and see if that can be shaped/squared to slide over the top of the pick set something like that could be slid on to stablilze the pack whether they are folded in or with one out,
just a suggestion I don't know if it will fit, there may be other ways to stabilize the picks when in or out, most of those multitools that have a folded plier and some jacknife blades have some system or other for 'lockblade'
you seem to have shorted yourself on selection of tensors,
dont take all that a criticism, youve done a good job, its just some suggestions I had
