scored 2 locks/savage & amer. 600

i got lucky at work today and got to purchase a Savage lever lock. it was pretty rough, it had been living in a pile of ruted metal inside a large wooden toolchest that had lived outside for quite some time. the rust is pretty thick on the lock but for 50 cents i'm really glad to add it to my collection!

Then one of the volunteers brought me an American 600- unfortunately i don't get to keep this one, he wants to rekey it. Im still happy to get a chance to pick on it, im sure it will give me qite a challenge after i remove all the gunk. And now, for your viewing pleasure.....

hope i can show some more explicit photos of the old american soon...

The savage looks too rusty to be picked, but surely is a nice add for your collection.
I really like the american, it's a pleasure when you can restore an old lock and put it to use again.
Can't wait to see the "after" pictures 8)

Don't wire brush the Savage, that will ruin the antique look.
Just use some penetrating fluid inside if the levers aren't working.
Neat lock...
