My uncle likes picking up strange things so he asked if he could have the old lock. I've always been interested in lockpicking but lockpick sets are fairly expensive in comparison to a $4 bump key. I was just curious as to whether or not I would be able to bump it.

Well, if you want to go by first off's. your first request was for:

SC4 and SC20 bump keys...

SC4 = Schlage C, 6-pin
SC20 = Schlage L, 6-pin

It was only after a few people chimed in that you said, oh umm would an SC1 and SC19 work ?

Your story still doesn't sit right with me, it smells funny...

Actually I said "Oops. Yeah I meant an SC1 and an SC19." And I'm pretty sure it was only 1 person that drew it to my attention. I'm new to this, and it made more sense that a 20 and a 4 would be two different pin sizes vs a 19 and a 1 which are more similar (numerically). Interrogate me all you want (and by all means think what you want) but I don't plan on partaking in any nefarious activities anytime soon.

OP, the only thing I can say is when someone new comes to the forum and they are heavily focused on one specific lock or model or keyway, it tends to raise flags with people because from our collective experience it hints that someone already has a lock in mind to pick or get into and are not specifically here to learn a cool hobby or skill. Being hellbent on getting a particular bump key is not overly unusual for our community, as I often get stuck hunting for a particular lock model or part number, but I've been around so people know I'm addicted to certain locks, people don't yet know you or what your passions are when it comes to locks. I'm just letting you know where Evan is possibly coming from.

play nice everyone,
