So,you thought this was the latest in snapper guns from Raimondo?

Look again.

That is the latest snapper, bogota pair, and tensor, all cleverly packaged together and designed to be easily carried.
To begin disassembly, pull the handle of the tensor from the snapper coil and push it forward through the tube, accompanied with a small twist:

Once the tensor is freed, the assembly holding the bogota pair loosens.

Next, unclip the safety pin:

Slide the assembly from the tube:

and pull the bogota pair free of the spring-wrapped safety pin.

You now have everything you need:

I will be testing the snapper over the weekend, as well as doing comparisons with some of the earlier snap guns. But by the looks of it, Raimundo has managed to top himself with this.

The 14k gold-plated snapper pictured will be featured in the Neiman-Marcus Christmas catalog this year.
I'll be doing the testing with a more practical model.

Eh Squelch,
Im gonna build a wire bending jig for the trap and coil,

Right now Im looking at a flat stainless butterknife, I can cut a short slot in one edge of the blade, and drop the nail head of the spoke in that and angle it out a bit closer to the tip of the knife, wrap it into another short slot there and take the spoke back to the nail head, bend it over the nail head and send it to the thicker handle, where I will drill a hole and put a bolt in to wrap the coil around, and thats pretty much it,

the spoke will naturally not wrap tight along the sides of the knife blade so I can get it off by pressing the thing in a vice which will narrowand lengthen the trap and loosen it from the grooves, if only one side can come out of the groove, then I will cut off the front of the knife back almost to the slot and this should be easy to take off blade, and the bolt will be easy to take off too so

it will be sorta standardized shape, of course I will still ergo bend the arms of the the thing by hand because this dosent leave tool marks on the wire.

thinning the needle will still be done by grinder and flat files and sandpaper.

anyway thats the thought right now.

For those who would like to make one of these tools Keypicking.com has an extensive tutorial on making this snapper. It seems Raimundo him self has helped make that tutorial as effective as possible.
