That is a standard Euro profile lock.
Remove the screw, turn the key whilst pulling cylinder and measure or take to shop to compare.
Simple.

The simple answer is yes. In practice replacement can sometimes be a bit of a fiddle which may be due to slight variations in shape or dimensions between different Euros (that's a guess, I've never checked with a micrometer). If the new one does not slide in easily and the front doesn't line up with the cutout in the cover plate, remove the cover plate, fit the Euro, loosely fit the bolt in the Euro but do not tighten, then refit the cover plate over the Euro before tightening the bolt. If your existing Euro looks like the one in the photo (thumbturn) then yes, replace it with a thumbturn.

Yes but you need to get the measurement right or else it may stick out 30mm or be inside the door by 20mm.

You have to undo the screw on the side of the door. Then The lock should loosens but doesn't come out. Now you should slowly rotate the key (or the thumb-turn) to align the cam to the hole while gently pulling the cylinder out. You should be able to remove it without forcing it out or you'll break something. Good luck

Here is a great news video about the problems with euro cylinder snapping in the UK. (It does not show actual snapping or how it is done, but is very well put together to educate the public that such an attack is possible) https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=e ... CufUpr_QRYEnjoy, Squelchtone
