"Must have" locks for a beginner

Is there a list of must have locks for beginning pickers?

Thanks

In short - no.

It depends so much about where you live and what locks there are around you.
Get some easy locks first to avoid frustrations, you can get them from your own garage (never pick locks that are in use!), garage sales, Home Depot or similar cheap big store, your local locksmith if you´re lucky etc.
Also in the beginning try to avoid keyways which look nearly impossible, you must get the feedback right and it´s more difficult if you can´t even move your picks in the lock

Good luck!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Please take a minute to Search for answers to common questions, this has been answered hundreds of times in the last 10 years. If you totally cannot find the answer, then ask. Same would go for "which beginner lock pick set do I buy" or "which direction do I pick such and such lock", etc.

We're here to help, but expect all members to help them selves first,

I tried but couldn't find what I needed. I have been lurking here for a while as well. I'll try to research more before posting
