How to remove this cylinder

It's a Kwikset keyway. The hole in the side of the lever goes to nothing (I can put an pick into it and see it go right through the middle of the lock from the back. Turning the lever doesn't help because the inside of the mechanism travels with the lever. The hole is also completely round, so it doesn't seem to be a any sort of set screw. I have spun the keyway 360 degrees while pulling the lever with no release. I have tried a kwikset release tool, a little, but don't want to press too hard since it doesn't seem logical the lever would be clipped in there. What am I missing?

The first picture shows a hole in the lever. With the cylinder turned, find an appropriate size Allen wrench and unscrew or screw the set screw in there. I can't remember if you need to screw it in or unscrew it out but you'll figure it out. The lever will come off, then you can remove the cylinder.

The screw seems pretty deep in those but its in there. Go straight, dont tilt the allen or it may miss the screw
