ABUS 24/60 finally SPP'd

This was surprisingly difficult to spp as access to the pins with my south ord picks was tight but i managed to do it twice tonight in under 5 minutes.

Good one! Those little keyways are tight with a tension wrench in there.
What did you use? Diamond?

Yes, I used a hook to get the back pins with tension bottom of keyway and then moved to half diamond and top of keyway to finish.

The bitting is too different to get all pins with a half diamond on this one.

Thanks.

After an hours practice with the Mrs in bed, i have got this sucker down to less than 30 seconds :D

I use very light tension in top of keyway and a shallow hook. Pins 2 and 4 are spool i believe and number 4 sets last and opens

I've now got a 6 pin british standards yale euro lock with awkward bitting and a tight keyway.

I have got lots of strong false sets but haven't opened it yet :(

I am much more confident i will though after making this one so easy

30 seconds? Congrats, it usually takes me 5 minutes if the Mrs sucks :P

You're just concentrating on the wrong thing, that's why.

You need to focus all your energy on the job in hand :D :D

Thanks.

If i can work out how to use You Tube and can balance my camera phone on something, i will try and get a video uploaded over the next week.

The longest it takes me now is a minute if i overlift and have to reset plus the very sore index finger i have now doesn't help :(

I just got one of those about 6 months ago. I was sure I'd never get it, so I just raked it to see if a bogata would work. Boom, open. 20 minutes later I spp'ed it. Used sparrows pick though. I think they are a lot thinner than the Southords. Nice work.

Well done on SPP'ing it. They are a fairly tight keyway.

My newborn has pretty much stopped my picking in its tracks. I was getting quite good at it and the new Southord slim picks were making the Yale 6 pin I have a bit easier.

Must get back on track before i lose the "feel".

Keep up the good work!

Congratulations on picking the ABUS. Went out and grabbed the same lock from my collection and picked it for fun. Still a little tricky.

Even bigger congratulations on the newborn! Funny how they seem to take so much time.
