I would do this if you think you can do a good enough job so the hole won't be noticeable without a very close inspection. Something tell me the clasp on it wasn't too aesthetically pleasing anyways, and to find something nice that also matches the holes would be incredibly difficult. unless you make your own hole pattern in the clasp.
