Questions- Guard Security 40mm

Postby Drpez5 » 19 Jan 2013 17:24

Hello all,

Earlier today I visited the store and saw a padlock I haven't seen before- Guard Security. I have been reading the forums for a little bit and I have never heard of it. So after a search, this was what came up...

I thought that this lock was going to be a breeze like a brinks I have or a master but the angling of the keyhole makes fitting in a tension wrench difficult.

If anyone has some ideas it would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Looking on line at these padlocks they appear to have exactly the same keyway as basic master locks.

Can you post a pic?

It does look quite accessible from what i can see.

Pickmequick, while it is accessible and doesn't have very many side wards, I find it difficult with the tension wrench to find room to pick or to rake. I'll stop talking and post some pics... Oh and the third pic has the tension wrench in.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!

It is just a reverse of the master keyway.

Use top of keyway instead of bottom and file your tension wrench or make another as that one is massive.

When you put it in keyway, make sure it doesn't trap pin 1!

If it can open by turning left as well, then try having the tension wrench on the left side of the lock instead of the right so that it doesn't block the keyway. It'll leave much more room to work with. In my experience, most padlocks open both ways.

Thanks, do any of you have experience with this specific lock? I would like to know how many security pins (if any) there are without gutting it.
