I'm looking to build one of those wooden boards with multiple deadbolts, handles, etc. in it to practice my picking, but am not really sure about the size of wood, tools and other things that would be needed to finish the project. I would prefer it to be a vertical board with the locks installed downward, single file, but am open to other, more efficient ways of doing it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also, on a slightly related note, what would be some good beginner/intermediate locks that I could pick up relatively cheap to throw in there? I'm still a newbie, but can pick through my Master #3 in a few seconds, and am looking to challenge myself into getting better. Thanks in advance for any help!  Do not try to pick the spool, that would be impossible.
Instead, only try to realize the truth: There is no spool.
Then you'll see that it is not the spool that's picked, it is only yourself.

Hey and welcome to the forum! I've never built a practice stand, I use just a vice. Here's a couple of links that may help you: viewtopic.php?t=1543 and viewtopic.php?p=7454. You can always get an Ultimate Challenge Practice Lock. Google it, you'll find it very easily. It's great both to start and to improve your skills (I still use mine). You could also look at the posts in this page, as they will answer many questions you may have! On a personall note, don't just stick to that. Use it as a template a build something with more "holes" to put other kinds of locks (euro cylinders, etc), not just deadbolts. You could also make a hole for an upside down cylinder, since sometimes you find them (depending on where you live). Just a thought  Go ahead, keep plugging away, picking on me! You will end up on bypass or with rigor mortise.
